AORN Congress 2002 delegate report

Report of AORN Congress 2002
Congress is always exciting and interesting. This year I really thought about what it means to be with so many other nurses from all over, and how much we can accomplish. So much planning goes into Congress that I am just overwhelmed.
In July I will be going to headquarters and I am sure I will find out how much time is put into each Congress. The education offerings were very good and were related to what is going on in the hospitals today. Both in regards to staffing and the nursing shortage that we all face. I have always found it amazing that no matter where we are nurses there are a lot of the same issues that we all face.
Next year will be an exciting year, both for myself personally and for AORN. As president I am excited to walk with all the other chapter presidents from Illinois, even this year I had a lump in my throat and I am sure next year it will be even bigger.
I hope that since Congress is here in Chicago next year that may of you will get to go down and participate in some of the activities that will be going on.
I am honored to be able to go as a representive of our chapter and thank you for you support of this chapter. I know that many of you can’t get to meetings and I hope that this new website will keep you well informed. Hope to see you next year.
